Why spend money on buying expensive creams for smooth skin when there are homemade recipes that will give your skin a radiant and glowing look? These recipes will also help you retain the natural moisture in your skin.

Homemade Glowing Skin Recipes and Tips

Dry, flaky skin can be transformed into radiant, hydrated and supple skin by implementing these natural face masks.

1. Mix some milk with one mashed banana and apply it to the skin. After 20 minutes rinse off with cold water for glowing skin.

2. Honey can do wonders although it can be a bit messy. Try mixing it with egg white and leave on the skin for 20 minutes. Wash as usual.

3. Make a walnut powder, honey and lemon juice paste together which will look like a facial mask. Apply for 20 minutes before washing off with cold water.

4. Rub a piece of papaya on your skin and neck for 15 minutes. If you cannot get papaya, make a paste with turmeric or fresh fenugreek leaves which you can buy from the herbs and spices section of the supermarket. This paste will be very effective for spots and blackheads and dryness. Early appearance of wrinkles will also be eliminated.  leave it on the face for 20 minutes and rinse with cold water.

5. Mashed banana, margarine, lemon juice and honey will go well together for overnight application on the face. You can even use it on your hands and feet but wear gloves and socks so that you do not smear it everywhere.

6. Washing your skin with water that contains boiled cabbage is great if you can stand the smell. This is an old recipe that has been used for hundreds of years before lotions and creams came about.

7. After showering, apply Vaseline to the entire body and leave this for an hour before washing again. Twice a month is recommended.

8. Mixing corn flour with egg white will dry completely on your face after half an hour or so. You should do this daily by putting your fingers in lukewarm water and massaging the face and neck area. Repeat this for two weeks.

9. Baby oil and sugar blend well together. Mix two or three teaspoons with two teaspoons of sugar. Rub the mixture on your hands, feet and any other body part that is dry and flaky and leave it on for ten minutes before washing off with lukewarm water. After a few days you will notice softer and smoother hands!

As well as the above homemade recipes, there are foods you can eat to make your skin glow. Antioxidants including vitamins C and A are essential for protecting the skin from sun damage and getting premature wrinkles. Drink lots of green tea up to five cups a day.  Eat sweet potatoes, tomatoes, oranges, broccoli and omega 3 and essential fatty acids such as oily fish, walnuts and pistachios. These foods are essential for the much needed nutrients to prevent your skin from dehydrating, drying and wrinkling.  Hope these homemade glowing skin recipes will help you.
